The line graph compares how many assaults, armed robberies and murders that happened in London from 2003 to 2012.

Overall, the number of armed robbery cases decreased significantly over the period while assaults' figure increased. The figure of murder incidents remained relatively stable. It is also noticeable that between 2003 and 2006, the most common crime committed was armed robbery and was replaced by assault in the following years.

In 2003, the number of recorded armed robberies began at just under 3,500 and rose slightly to peak at around 3,700 in 2004. The figure dropped every year to reach a low of just over 1,000 in 2008, then subsequently went up to about 1,500 until 2012.

With regard to assaults that transpired in London, it started at roughly 2,400 at the beginning of the period. Then, the number fluctuated in the following years, when the lowest figure was noted at 2,000, before increasing to reach a high of around 2,700 in 2012. Murders' number hovered between 500 to just under 1,000 throughout the period.
