The maps illustrate how the waterfront area of a town called Darwin transformed from 2009 to 2014.
To begin with, to the northwest of this area, there was a school in 2009 which stayed unchanged in 2014. Besides, the convention centre nearby remained the same after a 5-year period. According to the diagram, footpath surrounded the location of the lake, the area for trees and the industrial area in 2009. In 2014, the lake located in the northeast of this location remained constant. In the meantime, the trees still existed without any change in location or in size. In contrast, the industrial area adjacent to the lake made way for the swimming pool in 2014. In addition, two swimming pools situated next to this location underwent stability throughout the period shown. Another thing to add is that the fishing area positioned in the northeast corner experienced no change related to location or size.
As the diagrams suggest, along the east of this area, there was a harbour constructed in the south of the sea. Additionally, the industrial area was demolished to build up several things. In the middle of the layout of this area, residential building was expanded in 2014. Furthermore, there was a university building erected to the west of the residential buildings. Toward the south of residential buildings, more trees were planted. As well, the footpath was added to connect the harbour with the main road.
Overall, the waterfront area of the Darwin town witnessed a dramatic change over the period from 2009 to 2014.
