Contained in the bar chart provided is data pertaining to the proportion of males and females doing regular exercises by age ranges in Australia in 2010. Overall, the proportion of both genders doing exercises decreased when people get older.
Regarding the age range from 15 to 44 years old, one sees that there was a pattern of downward in males, whereas the percentage of females was upward. It is clear that, at the age of 15-24, there were 52.8% of males participating in physical activity, which was 5.1% higher than the figure of females. However, the proportion of males at the age range of 25-34 and 35-44 declined remarkably to 42.2% and 39.5%, respectively. Contrasting event took place with females, as it experienced a gradual rise to 48.9% at 25-34 years old and then to 52.5% at 35-44 years old.
Turing to the remaining age range, the event was apparently different from the former age range, as the percentage of males started to recover while the figure of females witnessed a downswing. From 45 years old and over, the percentage of males increased modestly from 43.1% to 46.7% when they reached 65 years old. Nevertheless, after a slight increase to the top at 53.3% at the age of 45-54, the figure represented a moderate decline to 47.1% when they are 65 years old and over.
