At the onset, it is clear that in the past, people spent plenty of money on buying food, while at present, people are spending money on purchasing cars. Besides, buying computers has become a trend these days, but people spend money on books, furniture, petrol, et Cetra.
Now, turning into the details, in 1972, the portion of the money spent on food which accounts for 39%, was significantly higher than the proportion of money spent on cars which makes up only 22%. In 2002, the reverse is the case on the expenditure on cars which amounts to 40% and on food is 14%. Besides, the expenditure on books was 7% in 1972 which fell by 4% in 2002.
