In terms of the source of fish importation, the proportion of purchasing from Canada stood at 60%, which was the highest figure compared to China (13%) and other countries (27%) in 1988. On the contrary, imports from other countries accounted for 46% in 1992 and 42% in 2000, which had replaced Canada to become the main supplier.
Regarding the table, the total value of US imported fish was $6.57 billion in 1988, followed by a slight increase to $8.52 billion in 1992 and reached $10.72 billion in the last year.
