The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010.
The two pie charts compare the percentage of household expenditures in two countries Japan and Malaysia in 2010. From the general perspective, the clear data could be observed that other goods and services were the highest proportion of expenditure on household in Japan, while in Malaysia, it was housing.
It is evident to see that in Japan other goods and services, food and housing made up the biggest household expenditure rate, in which other goods and services accounted at over a quarter, followed by food and housing with 24% and 21% respectively. In contrast, health care was at the bottom of 6% in 2010.
On the other hand, in Malaysia, the highest percentage of household expenses was in housing at over a third to compare with 21% in Japan. Similarly, Food's household expenditure rate in Malaysia was higher than in Japan, 27% compared with 24%. Nevertheless, the proportion of household spending in the other categories was lower than in Japan. Especially, transport and health care at 10% and 3% respectively, this figure was double in Japan, 20% and 6% respectively.
