The pie charts given illustrate the changes in terms of online sales for retail sectors in New Zealand in 2 different years, 2003 and 2013.
Overall, after a decade, while the proportions of travel and clothes increased, that of film or music and books declined. It is also clear that in 2013, film or music accounted for the largest proportion in online sales in this country.
It can be observed that in 2003, 36% of online sales was for travel sector that was the highest proportion in comparison with other sectors. This was followed by clothes sales, at 24%. The proportions of film or music and books were quite similar which were 21% and 19%, respectively.
In 2013, in terms of film or music online sales, the figure was 33% which increased by 12% in comparison with the figure 10 years ago. There was a small rise in the proportion of books sales, from 19% to 22%. By contrast, travel and clothes sales decline significantly from 24% and 36% to 16% and 29%.
