The pie charts provided illustrate two major changes in the use of modes of transport to a certain university between 2004 and 2009

The pie charts depict how students utilized a range of transport to commute to a university from 2004 to 2009.

Overall, commuting on buses and cars were the two most prevalent ways of going to the education property, whereas trains were least favored by students in both aforementioned years.

To begin with, the share of car commuters crossed the halfway mark in 2004 with 51%. However, this mode of transportation decreased its popularity in 2009 as the proportion halved that of 2004. Buses, on the contrary, witnessed a significant rise from merely 35% to close vicinity of 50%; therefore, it was the lion’s share of the chart in 2009.

In addition, the number of cyclists also went up during the time period as the share of bicycles doubled, with 9% and 16% in 2004 and 2009, respectively. However, the students’ use of train nearly stayed the same during the period, and this trend is also similar for those who walk to school.
