The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The two floorplans demonstrated changes in a public park from it was built in 1920 to today. There were several new features, rearrangement and abundance of old places.
Looking at the plan in 1920, there were two main entrances which were the north entrance in Arnold Avenue and the south entrance in Eldon street. Entering through either gate, people would see a huge fountain and a stage for musicians next to it. All the seats and three small rose gardens spread around the park. In the north-east area, which next to one of the rose garden, was a pond for water plants. Opposite the pond was a glasshouse.
As we can see in today’s plan, the park remains the two main entrances while there is one more entrance in the south-east site, locating in the new underground car park. Leaving the car park, visitors can see a water feature area, taking over the glasshouse, and a playground for children and a café next to it. In the middle of the park, there is a fairly large rose garden around with all the seats, which replaces the old fountain. Instead of the stage, there is a magnificent Amphitheatre for concerts in the west part of the park.
