The vital role of history depends on the interpretation of every individual. In this light, others believe that history is imperatively necessary in school curriculumn, while some people support the opinion that some subjects such as Science and Technology should be given more of the necessary attention. In the writers view, although both arguments have plausible reasons, they are equally beneficial.
Aparrently, it cannot be denied that history has something to do with the present. The past serves as the basis of the present in preventing actions that could be disastrous for the majority. As an exemplification, the horrible atrocities of world war 1 and 2 have led to the organization of the United Nations to maintain peace, which we harmoniously enjoy. Another thing to consider is broadening the knowledge of young generations with regards to our ever evolving cultural differences. It creates the medium of communication between radically diverse cultural perspectives, which propels the dilution and dissipitation of divisiveness due to ignorance. Because of these acceptable reasons, history is a crucial subject to be look upon.
However, there are also supporters of other practical subjects such science and technology. Obviously, we are living in the rapid technological innovations era, whereby the rise in the utilization of artificial intelligence affects the people's perspective. Nowadays, children are mandated by parents to merely focus on the subjects that will at least broaden their knowledge regarding the modern world, which in the long run, will help them in landing a job. Furthermore, Science and Technology talks about the conservation and survival of every living things. The saving of the environment needs a deeper understanding in the field of Science, thus its significance is indespensable. To exemplify, the dilemma of pollution that have been rapidly rising has been gradually being dealt with, using Science by inventing state-of-the-art machines to counter greenhouse effect, such as eco-friendly transportation system and renewable energy powering machines to mention a few. Therefore, it is undeniable that the attributes of Science and Technology subject are benefecial.
Given these both equally compelling statements, to maximally gain a better sophisticated view to be globally competetive, the combination of these subjects is appropriate to a holistic approach in the progress of education and at the same time the society, thus both are important.
To sum up, understanding the past is necessary to live the present, and to avoid cultural ignorance. Also, learning science and technology leads to an array of oppurtunities in this technological world. Nonetheless, if we combine these two subjects, it could fuel a positive development in education at present and for the future.
