It is often said that today’s children are tomorrow’s citizen. It is indeed a heated discussion whether parents or teachers are responsible for moulding a child’s behaviour during/her growth period. There are some people who argue that parents play a major role in teaching the children to become good citizens, while some others are of an opinion that schools are wholly responsible for training the child’s brain to behave well in the society. Both the parents and teachers are equally important in teaching the child the good manners, however I believe that parents role is superior compared to the schools.
First and foremost, children are habituated to their parents form their birth and try to imitate the actions of their parents, whether it is good or bad. For example, if the parents are involved in charitable acts, the child would get inspired from them and try to follow their foot steps. on the other hand, if the child from childhood has seen his parents fighting all the time, he would develop some criminal thoughts in his mind which he would further apply in the society to the fellow human beings. Therefore, the seeds that are planted by the parents in his childhood would either yield fruitful results or quite opposite results.
Contrary to these, some people believe that schools are mainly responsible for developing a child into good member of the society. Firstly, the highly experienced teachers in educational institutions would guide the students in all the concerns. Secondly, the school helps to learn the communication and also teaches cooperation within the group of students. Moreover, the teachers have the right to punish the students if they commit any mistake.
To conclude, I feel that both teachers and parents have role in teaching the students about good behaviour. However, parents have some upper rank due to the intimacy they have with their children. This intimate relation cannot be found from all the teachers to all the students.
