The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

The table compares information about expence of consumer on various products in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002. There are three items visible in the data which are educational, clothing and food/drink. Overall, the highest proportion of different national consumer spending was sector of food,drink and tobacco while the lowest was field of leisure/educational area .

All five countries spent much less on the remaining two items. It can be clearly seen that Turkey had the highest percentage of consumer expenditure in food/drinks/tobacco category was nearly twice higher than Italy, with 32.14 % and 16.36% , respectively. Italy, Sweden and Spain requried to similar expent in food/drinks/tobacco markets which means just over 15%.

Whereas Italy spent its income, with 9%, for clothing/footwear , the other four countries spent around the same amount, ranging between 5% and 7%. Leisure/Education category was the lowest expenditure item for all of them spending their income on this item for 2 % to 5%.
