The table gives information about the poverty percentages of type living of different categories in each household in Australia in 1999. Overall, the single parents and the single people without children had higher poverty, while the aged couples without children had less poverty.
According to the table, the total family that lived in poverty had reached almost 1.9 million people. The family type with highest poverty in 1999 was the sole parent, with the proportion of more than one-fifth percent from the total proportion. The second highest poverty was the single person with no children, which had poverty of the level of nineteen percent. Followed by the married couple with children, with more than one-ten percent.
As it can be seen, the lowest poverty was in the aged couple, with only four percent. The single aged people had reached a very small number of poverty, meanwhile the couple without children had reached mere seven percent of poverty in 1999.
