The table gives information about five types of vehicles registered in Australia in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
The table illustrates the number of vehicles divided into five categories which were registered in Australia during the period from 2012 to 2014.
Overall, there were general upward trends in the registration of all the five types of vehicles, and passenger vehicles were considered the most popular type in Australia. It is also clear that the figure for motorcycles experienced a dramatic change during the given period.
11,800,000 passenger vehicles were registered in 2010, which was approximately five times as high as that of commercial ones (2,300,000). Afterwards, the car registration of these two types increase noticeably to 13,000,000 for the former and 2,700,000 for the latter in the following four years.
In comparison, there were 540,000 motorcycles registered in 2010, followed by a tremendous rise of 30.8%, four years later. A similar pattern can be seen for light trucks which also grew remarkably by 23.5%, from 106,000 to 131,000. At the same time, the percentage of change of heavy trucks was smallest, at only 8.3% compared to the other types of vehicles.
