The table demonstrates the information about the forest zone by millions of hectares in six particular regions between 1990 and 2005.

As we can see from the table that in the first year, Europe stood at the first rank with 989 million of hectares for the forested land. In contrast, the forest area in Oceania just occupied for 199 million hectares. Africa and North America had a similar level, 749 and 708 respectively.

After 15 years, there are significant changes. The numbers of forest zone in Africa had dropped dramatically for 15 years from 749 to 691 million hectares. Meanwhile, the designated area in Europe increased sharply from 989 in 1990 to 1001 million hectares in 2005 and still stood at the first rank at the end of the survey time. South America had a downward trend and in 2005 the forest area in this region outnumbered that in Africa by around 4 to 3. The number of forest zone in Oceania had decreased slightly and gradually from 199 to 197. In addition to this, the land which was used for forestation in North America had declined sharply for 10 years and it was stable in the last period, 705 in 2005.

Overall, most of the region had a downward trend in the forest area. However, the forested zone in Europe grew up substantially. Furthermore, Europe was the region which had the largest forest area in 6 specific regions while Oceania was the one that had the smallest one
