USA fish imports

Essay topics:

USA fish imports

The pie chart and table illustrate how fish imports in USA increased dramatically within the span of 12 years. The table provides the annual cost of imported fish in billions of dollars.Whereas, the pie chart is split into three regions which in turn tells us the proportionate fish exports of Canada,China and other countries.
The general trend of fish imports in USA has a positive slope and is increasing annually, along with the annual expenditure on fish imports. The pie charts also indicate that Canada was a major supplier in 1988 , however it's exports fell over the 12 years and in the year 2000 it contributed the least in fish exports than China or any other country. Meanwhile, during the same time span where Canada lowered it's exports, China kept on increasing them and in 2000 it stood with a remarkable contribution of 30% of the total fish USA had imported.
While China and Canada had a quite opposite fish export trend, other countries fluctuated in their exports. However, from 1988 to 1992 USA increased their fish imports from other countries by a huge margin than they did in 1988 and had spent about 8.52 billion which was 2 billion dollars more than the 1988 amount.
