The charts compare the five categories of household expenditure in the UK and Newzealand in the year 1980 and 2008.
Overall, the emerging fact from the chart is that the percentage of spending on food and drink declined in both countries, whereas the expenses on utility bills surged.
Looking in more details at the food and drinks around one-third of people of New Zealand spend their income on it, while the equivalent figure for the United Kingdom was 29%. By contrast, both regions experienced a slight increment in expenditures on utility bills for average home from 27% to 31% in New Zealand and from 26 to 28% in the United Kingdom.
Marching forward, in both years investment on leisure activities remained higher in Uk as against New Zealand. Interestingly, a similar amount of money spent on other categories in both years for the UK and New Zealand, which was 11% and 9% respectively. Nextly, in terms of transport there was negligible decrease was noticed in both regions.
