Both the reading passage and the lecture argues the idea of sending humans to Mars. With this in mind, the author states that there are several problems which could be solved in this project. On the othe hand, the lecturer claims that although this project is challenging, there are several solution for all the problems that mentioned in the passage.

First of all, the writer points the view that it takes aproximately two years to go to Mars and back. Therefore, it is not easy to carry enough food, water, and oxygen because of limited capicity of space vehicles. The professor makes it clear that astronauts can use hydroponic technique to cultivate food crops on space with need less space. Moreove, in this maner some amount of water and released oxygen will be produced to meet the astronauts needed.

Second, the writing material argues the problem of zero-gravity environment of space and its negative effects on humans body. However, the speaker explains that there are several techniques which can help to astronauts to maintain their health in zero- gravity environment. For instance, there are some regular exercise which prevent decreas of muscle mass and also using some mineral to compensation reduction of bone density.

Finally, while the writer explains tremendous amount of space radiation in Mars would be dangerous for astronauts and the lack of magnetic field in Mars to protect people from solar radiation, the professor contradicts this idea. She makes it clear that the dangerous level of radiation in Mars does not exist in all the time. Furthermore, there are some equipment to help astronauts to be safe untile dangerous times pass.
