I received the letter you wrote to me inviting me to come and spend the holiday with you in Ireland. Thanks for the invite but unfortunately, I won't be available for July because I have an upcoming examination.
You see, I have this International English Language Testing System examination to write in July. It's an exam that tests one's ability to communicate effectively in the English language and as you know, I always had difficulty coping with the language as a subject back in college. Remember how I failed woefully in grade three and you were sad while I cried all the way home so I need to be up and doing in order to ace this exam.
Nevertheless, I'd be free in October; would you mind shifting this holiday invite up until then? It'll be more fun to spend the whole time with you without having to think about any exam. If you're game on this then I'll see you in October.
