Full time university students spend most of their time behind academic subjects. Some people say that they should engage in other activities also.
To what extend do you agree or disagree?
It is an inevitable truth that education is essential for students to lead a successful life. Some people believe that students should devote maximum time on the academic subjects. However, other's think that extra co-curricular activities are also important and they should involve in that as well. Although, core subjects are necessary but other activities also has great significance.
To embark with, one of the principal aspects of extra activities is that it help students to enhance their creativity and imagination. In other words, core subject teaches students about the fundamentals even though these are not beneficial in practical life. In order to be successful they need to have some extra knowledge apart from basic topics so that they can face the challenges of life and be successful.
Secondly, syllabus of the universities is not updated nowadays, and all the old versions of books are being used to teach people. And also, there are less exercises in coursebooks such as, group projects and case studies which are essential for children to learn team skills and empathy. Extra activities teaches multitude of life skills which helps them to be successful in life.
On the other hand, academic subjects help an individual to learn basic concepts of subjects, namely math and science and these subjects assist them to choose a major subject for their further studies. Unless these subjects are studied, students will not be able to go for specialized studies, and basic subjects also help them to understand their area of interest in alignment to their career prospect.
To conclude, students should not spend all their time on studying their board programs. They should spend their time on extra activities as much as they can because these activities will give them a practical exposure and a better understanding of life.
