Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to bring in your knowledge the present condition of “Minaar-e-Pakistan”, which is situated in Lahore, and to request apt action for it.
First of all, this place is of extreme importance in the history of Pakistan, as it played a vital role in our independence. The Pakistan Resolution was passed here on March 23, 1947. Numerous great leaders of that time participated in it. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who is the founder of this great country, addressed to the nation first time here after this day.
These days this place is not in decent shape. There are several cracks on the walls and most of them are wide enough to be seen by naked eye. Local people visit this building every day and this is extremely dangerous, as it can cause any accident due the vulnerability of this place.
I would request the concerned authority to take any action for the maintenance and renovation of this historical place. Locals are also willing to take part, financially and physically, in this great activity of saving this historical heritage.
I anticipate that swift action would be taken soon before any catastrophic damage.
