The pie charts elucidate the water consumption for numerous means in six different areas in the globe.

Overall, the agriculture sector is consuming the largest share of water in all regions except Europe and North America where industrial sector dominates over the others. In all regions except Africa, the utilization of water for domestic purpose is relatively low.

The highest share of water goes to satisfy the agriculture demand, in this regards, Central Asia contributes to 88% followed by Africa consumes 84%, then South East Asia responsible for 81% and lastly, South America uses 71% respectively. While water consumption in industrial countries such as Europe and North America where industrial water consumption contributes to 48% and 32% respectively. The minimum water consumption among different area of the world occurs in Central Asia, where industrial use of water for 5% which twofold percent lower than Africa.

Considering the use of water in domestic sector is low throughout six areas. For example, the domestic water utilization is the highest in South America (19%) and the lowest in Central Asia and South East Asia each accounts for 7% compared to other areas.
