Write a letter to the admissions tutor and explain your position. Apologise and offer to come on another day or later the same day. Ask also how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it.

I am writing this letter to inform you that I won't be able to attend the scheduled interview for Java course in college campus. I would like to apologize being late on interview.

Let me explain the reason of being late. I had an appointment with doctor for eye check-up of my mother. I had to stay with her for several requirements. She has to go for operation next day. I have to be there for completing certain formality before the operation date. Nobody was present to take care of entire situation except me. That's the reason I could not appear for interview on time.

It would be better if you allow me to appear for interview day after tomorrow or later the same day, then it would be helpful for me to take care of the whole situation. Please let me know the approximate time duration of entire interview session. l Along with that, confirm that is there any test during any stage of interview?

Thank you for your consideration in advance.
