Write a letter to invite an English-speaking friend to watch a movie with you about your country. In your letter:
Include some background about the film
Explain why it might interest him/her
Suggest arrangements for watching the film
Dear Mike,
How are you doing? We didn’t go out for ages. That’s why I am writing to suggest you join me next Friday and go to watch a historical movie about Kazakhstan.
The picture recreates events of my country at the times of the Mongol empire and is called “Mongol”. The most pleasing part of this film is the excellent cinematography. An operator made an outstanding job photographing this movie, making the bleakest of landscapes look stunning many times and adding some wonderful closeup shots of objects and faces.
In addition, the creators of the film have specially built a fort next to the Ilyi river for the shoot. I remember that you are keen on historical movies and ancient architecture. That’s why I am sure you will enjoy it.
Watching the movie will be conducted at 17 to 19 p.m next Friday at Bekmambetov cinema. If you agree to come along with me, I will pick you up at 16.30 and we will be just in time at the cinema.
I hope you will be able to join me. I am looking forward to your earliest answer.
Take care,
Maria
