Write a letter to a teacher asking for a reference letter for a job and explain:
-Why you have chosen him to write the reference letter
-What kind of job you are applying for
-Why you think you are suitable for this job

Dear sir,

I am writing this letter to bring to your notice that I am applying for a job in a company. I need to provide a reference letter to the company. My wish is that you give a reference letter for me. The reason behind this is that you have observed me from very closely through out my graduation and postgraduation. You also know the capabilities of me and how I can handle the critical situations very well. You will refer me because yo know that I can perform my duties on time and up to the mark.

As I have done my graduation and postgraduation in computers, I am applying for a job as Data operator in a private company. My whole studies after senior secondary school is in computers, so I am getting the opportunity to start my career in that field.

I have a proficient user of computers. Also, job's requirement is to have good knowledge of a particular database management software. I had used this particular database management software for my final project. I know the technicalities of this software and I will easily understand the whole process. Looking forward from you to get the reference letter soon.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully,
