Essay topics:

You are part of a group of musicians who meet on Tuesday and Friday evenings to practice in the community hall.

You have been told, however, that it is no longer possible for the group to use the hall.

Write a letter to the manager. In the letter:

describe what the group does
explain why the group is good for the community
suggest alternative days and times for practice

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my concerns related to the update from the supervisor that the community hall will not be available for practice on Tuesday and Friday evenings for our musical band.

Our group plays the band performances in various kinds of festivals as well as on certain occasions in the community hall and public events which are held in Central park of our town. We need a big room like a community hall to practice and prepare for our performances before playing in the events.

We raise funds for poor and needy ones in the community by playing performances at different kinds of parties and public events. In this way, we are able to contribute a small donation through every occasion to our local community.

We understand that national debate competitions and certain national level competitions like quiz, and other games are going to take in the hall, due to this reason, the supervisor sent us a message about the non-availability of a community hall on Thursday and Friday evenings. However, if you will provide us others days for the practice, especially on weekends during afternoons, we would be able to continue our practice in the hall. I plea you to concur with my request to practice with my group on weekends so that we can continue to entertain our locals in the town.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Shwatank Bhasin
