Dear Madam,
I’m writing to inform you that I’m not able return books, which I borrowed one week ago. The expiration date for return is tomorrow, however, I’ve recently received a call from my friend from Ukraine and he told about my uncle. She had a stroke yesterday and ambulance took her to the hospital. Her condition is still unstable and I am the only one relative she has. I should fly to Ukraine immediately to help her.
I want to ask you do not tell about my books’ overdue to our group’s curator, because he won’t understand my situation, as he doesn’t have a family and will probably fine me. It is very hard to find any extra money to cover such problems, because I’m a student and salary I have for my part-time job is very low. By the way, I can ask my classmate John to return books tomorrow, however, I will able to sign up in your journal only when I come back.
I’m very sorry for this inconvenience and look forward to hearing back from you.
