You had arranged to meet a friend next week, but you have realised that you will not be able to go.
Cancel the meeting with your friend and apologise
– explain why you will not be able to meet your friend
– suggest where and when you could see each other instead.
Dear Naina,
I'm extremely sorry to tell you that it will not be possible for me to meet you next week as we had planned. I know it's a last minute change, but there is something important came up, which is significant and can't be avoided in any case.
Let me explain it to you. I hope you forgive me once you hear out my reasons. Actually, yesterday i got a call from my elder sister and got to know that her flights to Canada are confirmed for the coming Monday, which she had been trying since long now. You see she will be away from India for the next 3 years to complete her higher education in Canada, so me and my parents are going to Punjab to meet her before she fly away. Now you understand how critical time it is for me and my family, and i can't really give up a chance to meet my dear sister, as i won't be able to see her for least next 3 years after this.
Sorry again, i know you would understand my situation and forgive me.
Lets plan to meet in the last week of this month. What do you say? same place ?
I eagerly waiting for your reply on this.
Regards
Harpreet
