I am writing this letter to express my concern regarding to an article which introduced my hometown in your magazine "Lonely planet" (No.201, issued last month). There may be some misconception of our history which I would like to show you.
First of all, thank you for your attention to my hometown. With your vivid description, there will be more and more people all over the world come to visit my city. Many of us are proud of this article publicised in such a well-famed travelling magazine.
However, as you metioned in the text, my city was established one hundred years ago. Maybe you would like to emphasize the worker strike event at that time which changed the trend of Chinese history as my concern. I should tell you that my hometown was not established a century ago. Instead, my city is an ancient community started 3000 years ago. There were the walls built at that time in my homwtown. Besides, the antiques explored also told us the stories during the past. I belive this fact should be significant to the readers as my hometown was not only where the new era of China began, but also a place with history as long as the ancient Rome.
In this case, I will be really appreciated if you can address this mistake in the next issue.
