You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter :
1) Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college.
2) Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her.
3) Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her.

Dear Chan,

I am glad to hear from you after such a long time. though I do not know if I am the right person to suggest, but as a response to your letter I would definitely advice you to look for job, instead of joining college. I totally believe that fulltime employment will give you far more pleasure than theoretical study considering the fact that being in actual film production is all you have dreamed for your whole life.

Not only for self-satisfaction, but getting a post even in entry level position in media industry counts more than academic degree. it will offer networking option which will ultimately open new doors for you. Not to forget, you will gather tons of technical skills while sharping your artistic vision from the fellow filmmakers and crews! so, starting career immediately is the wise decision to take.

Making the first footstep in the showbiz is the hardest part. so I will force you to look for vacancies in runner or assistant director section. though both of these have the most work load and challenging schedule, but it will push you close to your dream job. What's more, you can apply for "extra" roles as it can help you to work in big studio films. if you have expertise on video editing, then give me a buzz! I have a friend who owns the leading post-production company of the city and I will be thrilled to put you up in touch with him.

I can't wait to hear which path you choose to go. so write me as soon as you take the next step!

Best,
Shahla
