You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Although you have never formally studied computing, you have always been interested in computers. You have just read about a computer course that really interests you, but it is only for people who have completed an elementary course.
Write a letter to the college enrolment officer. In your letter
explain why you are writing
describe your circumstances
ask if a special exception can be made for you so you can enrol in the course
You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir,
While reading the courses and programs offered in this university, one course in specific caught my attention: Python Programming. My name is Sara Haddad and I am writing you this letter as I am strongly interested in enrolling in the course.
I was always intrigued by the data management science which led me to where I am now: job hunting for data analyst jobs. However, one of the skills required is the ability to use data analytics tools. Python is one of popular tools used in that field. I have read on the brochure that Python requires a prerequisite: the completion of an elementary course. Unfortunately, I have not completed one. I have completed an introductory course on Microsoft SQL. In cases such as mine where I do not meet the prerequisite requirements, can an exception be made? Perhaps an exam I could take to qualify me.
I would be grateful if you guide me to the best solution given my circumstances. I am really looking forward to enroll in Python Programming and gain a competitive edge in my job search.
Yours faithfully,
GP
