You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:

Explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
Say how your work could be done while you are away
Ask for his/her help in arranging it

Dear Mr. Ryan Lee,

I am writing this letter to express my interest regarding the leadership internship available in our head office in Singapore. Since, I am due for a team manager promotion I would like to receive all the mentoring and guidance to help me carry out my responsibilities smoothly.

Let me explain my situation in detail. Firstly, I have no team management background and would like to take this opportunity that came at an unexpectedly right time to develop my skill. Secondly, I will carry my laptop to ensure that my daily tasks are not compromised while I am away. Thirdly, I will schedule weekly conference calls thereby keeping myself updated and informed with the team's performance.

Last but not the least I will require an authorization letter stating that I am a suitable candidate for the position. Furthermore, the human resource department also needs to be intimated so that they can make the required travel and staying arrangements.

Looking forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,
Mary Smith
