Essay topics:

Your local council is considering closing a sport and leisure center that it runs, in order to save money,
Write a letter to the local council, in your letter,

Give details of how you and your friends or family use the center.
Explain the why the center is important for the local community.
Describe the possible effects on local people if the center closed.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to you regarding the plans to close the sports centre. It is inestimable since it is the only place where we can relax and forget about our problems. In fact, I go there with my friend to exercise at the gym. My family as well go to the swimming pool at the sports centre and we have just renewed our membership for a year.

The sports centre, therefore, plays an important role in our society as it help us to improve our health. Other citizens either go to meet friends or go for a family gathering. Not only it enhances our health but also it helps us have a great time since it was opened. It is an influential factor in the vast majority of us.

By closing the sports centre, a counterproductive would emerge. One of the adverse consequence is disappointing many people because they cannot engage in sports activities. Moreover, children will go to play on the streets because they cannot go to the sports centre. I appreciate if you could rethink and reconsider this decision.

I look forward to hearing a good news from you.
Yours faithfully,
Paula
