Dear Sir,
I am citizen living in ‘Uttara, sector-6’ area that falls under your council. I came to learn about your recent decision in closing the nearby sports and leisure centre named ‘Uttara Park’ in the face of financial crisis. ‘Uttara Park’ is the only leisure centre in this locality covering an area of 10,000 sq. km.
Being the single most leisure centre over the time a lot of facilities and varieties of free time activities including outdoor games, jogging area, food court, a small Cineplex etc have been incorporated to this center. This centre is very dear to me and family as we spent most of our free times in there. We meet with our friends and hangout and arrange different meet ups with near and dears ones. Over the time we have developed a lot of memories related to this centre.
As a part of outdoor activities there is a sports club and different tournaments are arranged in this place. Local people actively take part in the activities which strengthen community bonding. If this centre closes we are afraid that people will become self- centric. Local people will start facing mental and physical challenge as this centre gave us the room for some fresh air. Inhabitants on this community regularly gather for physical exercises which asserts a positive impact on everyone personal and social life.
As we know it is crucial for every community to have at least one central meeting place and for us this palce is the leisure centre. Please explore some other options to mitigate the existing crisis without closing down this leisure centre.
