Your local newspaper wants to reward people who have contributed a lot to the community.
Write a letter to the newspaper. In your letter:
suggest someone who deserves the reward.
mention what they have done to help the community.
say what reward you would like to give this person.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter with regard to a reward from Thanh Nien newspaper to people who help to build a better community.

I would like to nominate my best friend, tom, who is also my neighbor. I believe he deserves this reward because he has been working very hard to improve the environment of our neighborhood. I have asked people living in the town about this and everyone confirms tom’s contribution to the local community.

What he does is picking up the trash on the streets in the neighborhood every morning before he goes to work. he then put the garbage in the right place to recycle and dispose of. this seems to be insignificant, however, the environment of my town has vastly improved thanks to his action.

I would suggest that you could dedicate a small section in the newspaper to honor his action. Not only is this an encouragement for tom, it also shows a good example for others to follow. you can also give him money as a reward to make him even happier.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Truong
