Your sister kate. Her addiction to cigarette smoking.

Essay topics:

Your sister kate. Her addiction to cigarette smoking.

The story started when Kate began smoking cigarettes during her high school years. Seemingly, teenagers are easily manipulated into recreational activities when they see others doing the same. They are always looking to explore whatever the world has to offer and smoking is one way to start, according to a study conducted by the NY Science Magazine.

Just before university, she had finally decided to abstain from smoking and similar activities but only after we acceded to her demands of a separate personal multimedia equipment and shopping trips, twice a month. It has been difficult for my wife, Sarah, to accustom herself to Kate’s changing behavior because of her controlling nature.

Everything had been running smooth for nearly six months until one day Sarah smelled acrid fumes on the terrace. She immediately recognized it as cigarette smoke because the fumes were achromatic and there was no apparent gas source available there. She summoned Kate and inquired about the weird smell to which she had no answer. She looked in another direction trying to keep herself from answering her mother’s question but my wife was quite annoyed and there was no way she was going to excuse her behavior this time.

Life without a boyfriend for the last 5 years must have addled her brain, I thought; as why would someone, otherwise respectful, disobey their parents and indulge in damaging hobbies. My wife, however, adduced other factors to her smoking problem too: her best friend, Megan, university’s ineffective student counselling department, and the advent of absurd fashion trends. To correct this behavior once and for all, Sarah went to her university the very next day. She reminded the counselling head to adhere to the rules and regulations mentioned in the university policy. After that, it was time for my daughter to receive one final admonition and without further ado, Sarah admitted Kate to a rehabilitation program. Smoking has not been the only adversity in our life. The incessantly falling Kate’s grades at university has also disturbed us emotionally. In Pakistan and the whole world, women have equal rights to everything as men, including equal educational opportunities and annual salary.

One day Kate came to me with a mathematics problem and not her mother, as she thinks of me as the affable one among her parents. After helping her, I went on to affix the new wheels I bought for the car the other day. It is that time of the year when I overhaul the car and some engine work is still afoot. The continuously worsening traffic has aggravated the already unbearable conditions of the roads and more and more potholes have started to surface randomly. According to the transportation department, an aggregate of 50,000 new vehicles join Karachi’s busy streets every year. Some people prefer motorbikes over cars because they see them as agile and an economical means of transportation but what they don’t understand is that bikes are susceptible to more accidents thanks to their exposed seating which can easily cause anyone to get hurt in an otherwise minor accident.
