It is ubiquitously known that technology has taken mammoth dimensions in each and every walk of human life ever since the globalisation took place. A section of society considers it a positive turn in improving the way of interaction while others are more suspicious about its repercussions owning to several reasons, elucidated in the ensuing segments along with my personal perspective.
First and foremost benefit of technology in terms of communication is that it has reduced the communication gap. To be more precise, one can have easy access to near and dear ones over video and voice calls through WhatsApp, Facebook and many more social applications; which are proving a panacea among foreigners. In this case, people who live far away countries, do not feel homesickness. As per world health organisation, for instance, approximately 87% people have overcome homesickness ever since the introduction of technology in being sociable. Not only this but it also saves the time and energy. By this this I mean masses need not to pursue visiting terms since they can interact to one another via electronic gadgets like mobile phones instead of wasting time to meet each other at particular places.
However, some people advocate that electronic communication has reduced the actual bonding among masses and classes. To illustrate, people avoid spending quality time with their closure ones and indulge in making online friends who sometimes deceive them. Thus, they do not value even their family members. What is more, over usage of technology in being sociable has increased the generation gap. In such situations, people, especially children become selfish and show less care towards their elders which paves the way to isolation among grey people.
To recapitulate, after analysing both the view points I vehemently vouch that although technology is proving boon in maintaining long distance relationships yet its detrimental effects can not be overlooked . Hence, only wise use of technology is commendable in maintaining the relationship otherwise it may be hazardous for people in various aspects of life.
