Things like puzzles, board games and pictures can contribute to a child’s development. What should you give a child to help him or her develop and why? Give details and examples in your explanation.

Most educational institutions in almost all the countries have been providing different learning tools to children to help them learn while at school. Educationalists agree that a child can learn and understand the basic concepts with the aid of tools such as, crossword puzzles, board games and so on. I will explain which of the tools I’d prefer to give to a child to help him or her learn effectively.

My first preference would be giving picture puzzles to toddlers. I believe that it will be more effective if a child is taught about a wild animal such as, a tiger or a lion by showing them the picture of that animal rather than describing it in words. It is evident from multiple surveys carried out by The International Institute of Learning that, children learn fifty percent faster when they were given visual diagrams. Therefore, puzzles will aid children to learn the concepts faster.

My second preference would be giving board games such as Chess, Monopoly to the children of certain age. These board games will promote logical thinking among children. For instance, most children will develop logical thinking when they play chess as a player need to plot different strategies to win the game. Monopoly on the other hand, gives them the basics of financial knowledge. As per a research conducted by National Geographic Society, neurological activity in a child’s brain doubled while playing Chess.

In conclusion, children will learn more effectively with the help of puzzles and games. In future, I could say that all the schools in the world will adapt to visual aided teaching to children.
