4 days worker

Essay topics:

4 days worker

Both the reading and the lecture discuss whether the 4 days work week will beneficial to the company as well as the employee as a whole. The former argues that this will have a great impact on the company and individual in three specific ways but the latter counters each of the points made by the reading.

First of all, the reading contends that a reduced workweek would increase the benefit of the company as they have to pay only the 80% of the full-time employee and also hire more employees and this will create an overall less amount of error to the output of the company. In contrast, the lecturer argues that 4 days workweek require more investment of the company as the health cost is needed for more employee. Moreover, the training for the extra new employee will also add extra cost and will cut off the profit of the company.

Secondly, the author contends that this 4-days workweek will decrease the unemployment rate of the country since more and more people will be required to fill the other days for the company. However, the lecture rebuts that, this may not work since the company may offer overtime for the existing employee. Moreover, the situation can be even worse by raising the unemployment rate since the company will likely hire those people who want to work 5 days.

Finally, the text claims that the 4-days workweek will enhance the life quality of the employee since they can spend more time with their family and can do their own interest. On the other hand, the listening counters that, while the employee will get more time for leisure, this reduces the life quality of the people since the job market become more unstable and if a sudden economic crash happens, the 4-days worker will likely to lose their job first. He further adds that the company will continuously be looking for 5 days workers for their important position like managing director to have continuous and consistent discussion making for the company.

We are expecting: No. of Words: 350 while No. of Different Words: 200
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:

para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.

So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:

reasons == advantages or

reasons == disadvantages

for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.

or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
