bees

Essay topics:

bees

Both the reading and the listening discuss whether the fossil found in Arizona are the fossil of bees or not. The former argues that they are not the fossil of bees and give three specific reasons for that whereas the latter contradicts all the points made by the reading.

First of all, the author contends that, since no fossil of bee have ever been found more then 100 million years age and the founded fossil is more than 200 million age so this are not hte fossile of the bees. However, the lecturer argues that, the fossilization of the bees need a special kind of liquid regine which were not present on 200 million years ago. Moreover, he adds that bees may be present on those days but the the right kind of regine to fossilized bees were not available.

Secondly, the reading asserts that, since bees feed on flowring plants and the flowring plants evolve first on earth on 125 million yeas ago s this fossil are not the bees fossil. In contrast, the lecturer rebuts that, very early bees may not feed on the flowring trees . they might feed fren or pine type trees. In additin, he adds that it might also be possible that when the flowring plant evolve, bees change their feeding habit from fren to flowring plants and stable for hte next generation.

Finally, the text claims that, the the fossilized structure lack sone exclusive details from th present day's bees since it lacks spiral pattern cap. On the other hand, the listening counters that, the chemical composotion of the nest resemble same type og chemical materials of the fossilized bees' nest. Both contain a chemical that have a wax like substance to prevent water to come in the bests. Thus those fossil may be the fossile of the present days bees.
