public speaking
Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world. In my opinion, I agree that students should be required to take a class in public speaking before graduating for a couple of reasons.
To begin with, when we take a public speaking class, we will get many skills which will affect our personalities in positive ways. These skills will assist and develop us to be confident people in our speech, especially in front of large audiences. For example, when I was in college, I used to do projects in front of my classmates and professors. Because I did not have any experience doing this, I had no idea how to be a confident person; consequently, the project was not good enough. Then, the professor advised me to take courses in public speaking, which helped me to advance my skills. Therefore, when I did another project, it was much improved. I learned how to deliver my ideas and how to convince others without hesitation. That is one reason why I concur that students should take a class in public speaking before graduating.
In addition, when we take courses in public speaking and practice that, it helps us to get some experience. Moreover, when we have this experience, it helps us to get a good job. This is especially important in job interviews because they want to know how we think. Some jobs require that from employees be an open minded to receive all kinds of ideas, which will support employees to be creative. For example, when my friend applied to work in a company, she had an interview. They wanted to test her, so they asked her to convince them about products and to sell those products to the interviewer. Because she already had this skill, she passed, and she got a great position in that company. That is why I agree that college students should take a class in public speaking.
To conclude, I agree that students should take a class in public speaking because it will aid and develop their skills, provide some experience, and it will help to get great jobs.
