The text and the lecture both talked about the allegations of segrigation in a movie called Gone with the Wind. The movie was reputed as the important for the hitory of slaves in America, but there has been critical opinions to this movie. In the lecture, the professor refutes the main idea made in the reading, so the following passages show the details about her opinion.

Today, scholars states that the movie is the most seen as romance and feminist about a Southern family during the American Civil War. Main character, Scarlett O'hara, is a slave owner whose privillege to own American Africans. The professer says that this is overstated because Southern people were not refered as wise. Before the war, they had limited opportunities; as being mother and wife, and after the war they became rich and more complex so they were protected. Thus, the reading passage reputed Southern people too much as well-off.

Second, Butterfly McQueen who acts a servant was criticized by the civil rights specialist Malcom X because his acting in the film made reputator embarassed. The speaker admires the acotor because he showed disobeying attitude to his owner with high pitched voice, therefore he should be appreciated as a black actor instead of blamed as a racism. Hence, the critics about actor is wrong, and they actually paved the way to African American actors.
