advantages of franchising

In this case of material the text and the lecture offers two opposing view on the possibility of the franchising's success instead of starting your own business. With these in mind, in the contrary the lecture casts doubt on whether these reasons of support that the passage has provided be effective. The lecture refutes all these episodes of argument mentioned in the passage, believing that these specific claims are not as realistic as the passage has argued.

First, the author claims that franchise owners do not have to search for reliable suppliers because the main company has already shouldered this responsibility. In contrary, the speaker counters this opinion stating that there are cheaper products produced by other companies but according to the contracts between franchise buyers and the main companies they can not buy them. As a matter of fact, they have fewer choices in their shopping.

Second, the reading holds the view that the high cost of advertising has been omitted for franchise owner as the mother company itself pays for the expensive and sophisticated advertisements. However, the professor challenges this view by saying that owners have to pay 6 percent of the total income, that is relatively a remarkable number, to the company instead of being advertised by the main company. Actually, she believes that this companies does not advertise the franchise buyers, they are in fact, advertising their own product.

Finally, the author claims that the failure rate of this type if business is very low in compare with a new-established one. Additionally they are more effective for inexperienced business owners. In contrary, the lecturer repudiates this idea by stating that there are more sufficient substitutes that is more beneficial than this type of business. She believes that buying an existing independent business offer more advantages for the owners at the beginning.
