First, according to the reading passage, meerkats are a perfect instance of performing altruistic actions. In a group often one individual acts as a guard, looking for predators, while others are hunting for food. They put themselves in risk for others' interests. However, the professor refutes this claim, asserting that individual acts as a sentinel only with a full stomach.
