Furthermore, he mentions that someone included the fur collar for the purpose of increasing in the value of the painting.
Secondly, the reading states that Rembrandt was a master of painting light and shadow, but in this painting, these elements do not fit together. Nonetheless, The lecturer rebuts this by mentioning that the fur collar is responsible for these elements( light and shadow) do not fit together In the replica and not an original painting.
