The passage defines jet streams as an irregular band of wind that occurs in high altitudes. It also concludes that the more variation in temperature ,the stronger the jet streams. The reading also states the two types of jet streams, the subtropical and the polar across southern border of continental United States and Idaho and Monatana respectively.
