Discussion about online encyclopedia and traditional encyclopedia's advantages and disadvantages

The reading passage and lecture have conflicting opinions about whether or not the online communal encyclopedia is better to use widely. The article strongly postulates that even though this online version has many appeals, it has also several issues that make it more undesirable than the traditional one. On the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that the author's criticism based on his ignorance and shallow understanding of the true meaning of this version.

First and foremost, according to the author of the excerpt, a lot of amateur subscribers may make its information more imprecise. However, the traditional encyclopedia is prepared by experts who have strong backgrounds in this field. Nonetheless, the lecture offsets these points by declaring that everything has own errors and it will never become perfect at any time. Likewise, the online encyclopedia has also some mistakes; however, the excerpts are working hard in this problem. Furthermore, she asserts that if the printed version has errors, it will remain for decades compared to the online one.

Secondly, the professor in the lecture further said that protecting from malicious hackers, the experts implemented a new strategy that is a requirement to fill out the crucial information about the user. These claims refute the writer's implications about this platform is vulnerable in front of hackers and cyber crimes because it doesn't notify their users about being hacked.

The article lastly points out that the communal online encyclopedia has too broad topics, so it leads them to make an unfavourable impression on their users. The speaker in the listening counters these indications by insisting that traditional versions have limited space to publish their works, so they have to cut off some parts which someone interests articles. Moreover, this online encyclopedia gives numerous opportunities to experience many diverse topics which also reflect well public viewpoints.
