Eye correction surgery
According to speaker Laser eye surgery is more useful where as writer says that it is not. To prove speakers point of view, he used four main points as cost, side effects, healing time and effective time of surgery.
Firstly in the passage it was stated that surgery is costly but speaker thinks that this is a misconception. In recent years cost of surgery has reduced by 30%. Furthermore, he said that cost of equipment are decreasing and increased compitation among doctors performing surgery played important role in lowering prices of surgery.
Secondly writer stated that time required to recover from eye operation is high. it can be 2 weeks. speaker contradicts this by saying that healing time of surgery is only two to three days. after this speaker puts forth his doubt by implying that the time needed to repeat surgery is a lot. repetition is not needed within few months or years. there are some evidences that in one case surgery lasted for up to 20 yrs.
last but not least writer points out that there are chances of cornea displacement after surgery. Whereas, speaker said that there are only few cases and this happens ony in extreme environments. For example cornea displacement occurred to a hiker on top of Mount Everest where high altitude and increased pressure affected his eyes. this resulted in displacement of cornea.
Hence in conclusion, speaker disagrees with the writer in the line of reasoning cogently.
