In this set of material, both the author and the lecturer explain about birds harmed by the glass, and how it is prevented injuries to birds. The author of the reading declares that there are several solutions for it, while the professor states that these solutions are not effective. In what follows, the reasons of the author and the professor will be discussed.
Firstly, the author and the professor explain One-Way glass with pros and cons. In this regard, the author of the passage asserts that replacing the clear glass with one-way glass is a suitable way. On the other hand, the professor believes that people can see outside of the house; but, if you look inside from the outside, it reflects like a mirror. So, the birds cannot understand the mirror and fly into them.
Secondly, the reading of the passage and the talks are about Colorful Designs. In this vein, the author declares that painting colorful shapes or other designs on regular glass can be another solution. In contrast, the professor believes that birds think the window is open in this circumstance. Also, these can seem extremely small and dark for people.
Finally, the author asserts that creating a magnetic field can be another way. But, the professor states it does not work very well. It just works for long distance traveling of birds. They do not use this way short trips; because they use their eyes finding direction in short distances.
In conclusion, the author gives solutions about the glass to prevent birds from injury while the professor refutes these solutions, and believes that they are not impressive.
