First of all, the author asserts that the ethanol fuel would not assist to fix global warming problem. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that augmented of ethanol fuel does not adversely affect the environment. In other words, cultivating plants to produce ethanol fuel not only would not ascend the greenhouse gases but also simply compensate disadvantages of burning such gasoline fuel effects on the atmosphere.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that the more withdrawing ethanol fuel from plants, the more consuming of plants as animal foods will increase. On the contrary, the professor underlies the fact that using plants as ethanol fuel would not decrease the sources of animal foods as long as he believes that there are a few parts of plants which go on not eaten by animals. Consequently, producing ethanol fuel does not interfere with the animal food; besides, it will no longer diminish the supplies of plants for other uses.
Finally, the reading argues that ethanol fuel cannot compete with gasoline in terms of price and will cost higher than it.
